State of Teachers, Teaching and Teacher Education in India - 2023

The State of Teachers Teaching and Teacher Education is a Biennial State of the Sector Report produced by CETE. The report has a special focus on teacher availability and supply. The analyses examine the demographic profile of teachers in different sectors, the working conditions of teachers, the availability and supply of teachers in general, and specifically of qualified teachers, in the system. Comparisons are made between states, urban and rural locations and the government and private sectors. The report is based on eight background research papers that used primary and secondary data.
